’nMotion Receives Recognition (again!)
For the second year in a row, ’nMotion was nominated for the 2012 Excellence in Business Award! We were recognized by the Metro North Chamber of Commerce for our outstanding work in the community and our ability to develop strong partnerships with other local businesses.
The certificate was given at the annual Excellence in Business Awards luncheon in front of 100 other business leaders and elected officials from the north metro area. The Metro North Chamber is the fourth largest chamber in the state of Minnesota. We congratulate the 2012 winner in the Service Category, Running Aces Harness Park!
Staff Member Receives Award
Mandy Meisner, Manager of Business Development was awarded with the annual Friend of Youth Leadership Award for “Innovative Funding” from The Youth Intervention Programs Assn (YIPA) in December 2012 for her work with the Lee Carlson Center. This is a statewide award. Others recognized include Patty Wetterling in the Legislative category, and Kate Swensen in the Program Leadership category. Mandy says, “My name may be on here, but this was a group effort made by the entire staff at ’nMotion. Everyone worked hard, going above and beyond in Dancing with our Local Stars and Anoka County’s Got Talent helping to raise $30,000 for the Lee Carlson Center.”
Ribbon Cutting with the MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce
In August we launched our fourth year of business with a bang, by having a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with the MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce! Special Thanks to local (featured) businesses, Rasmussen College, Smiling Spaces, Macaroni Kids, Miche Bags, and Grandpa’s Ice Cream. We’d like to also recognize the local dignitaries who took time out of their busy schedules to come out, Fridley Mayor Scott Lund, Anoka County Attorney Tony Palumbo, and State Senator Barb Goodwin. Last but not least, our amazing staff who continue to work hard to share the art of dance, and to our DANCERS and their families who motivate us to do better, and be better. It’s going to be a GREAT year!
'nMotion receives Honor
We were nominated as a candidate for the 2011 Excellence in Business Award! We received an Honorable Mention from the MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce for the work and impact we have had to our community. We are excited to be recognized by one of the largest Chambers in our state! Congratulations to the 2011 winner in the Services category, Financial One Credit Union. It’s an honor to be in your league.
Thank you to all who gave to the One for Joe Toy Drive! We are proud to have been a part of this local effort to help others. The community at large contributed over 1,000 toys for the Miracles of Mitch Foundation for children who are battling cancer. This was held at Andover Cinema where kids could meet Santa with a few of his reindeer and watch the movie “Smurfs” for free. This is going to be an annual Holiday Toy Drive and ’nMotion will be participating again next year! Check this event out as seen on FOX 9 News.
“Dancing with Our Local Stars”
The ’nMotion Dance Center is proud to have partnered with the Lee Carlson Center to present, “Dancing with Our Local Stars” a benefit for the Lee Carlson Center to raise dollars to help youth and their families struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. Held in June 2010 we helped to raise $9,000 at the event for the Lee Carlson Center. Miss Nikki & Miss Stevie worked incredibly hard to learn ballroom dance, train our local celebrities and performed beautifully! Our students and Performance Team did an amazing job dancing during the evening and received rave reviews from the community and local media. This event was so successful we will be partnering with the Lee Carlson Center again in April of 2011 to bring another night of entertainment to our community, raise funds and bring awareness to mental health issues.
